Beginning in the 2019 growing season, Beautiful Land Products began offering pollinator-friendly native plant specimens in 4” pots and 1-gallon containers. We have been encouraged by the response and are excited to continue working to bring greater awareness about the ease of growing native prairie plants, as well as the many benefits of growing native plants near traditional annuals and veggies.
This summer, we attended field days focused on native plants and spoke to biologists from the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the Xerces Society to better understand the opportunities and challenges in establishing native prairie, whether in backyards, prairie strips, or large open areas. We have also grown the species list for the coming 2020 season.
If you’re interested in a large number of plugs or trees, please let us know the fall prior to your need to ensure plant availability. On this page, you’ll also find a list of the species we grew and/or cared for in the 2019 growing season.

We plan to expand our species list in the coming year to include more forbs, grasses, and trees. If there is a particular native plant that you would like to see us grow, feel free to contact us and let us know about it! While some ephemeral woodland species are exceedingly hard to grow in a nursery environment, most prairie species will grow well.
